Terms of Service
Last updated September 17, 2026
This is a draft template, not reviewed legal advice -- have a lawyer look it over before treating it as binding, especially the placeholders marked below.
These Terms govern your use of nossletter.tech: the daily digest, OSSpedia, and the Learn exercise platform (together, the "Service"), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME -- fill in] ("we," "us"). By creating an account, subscribing to the digest, or purchasing Learn's founding-member offer, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The daily digest, OSSpedia, and every Learn exercise's content -- problem statement, hints, starter code, and reference solution -- are free to any verified account. Running your code against an exercise's real hidden test suite requires the one-time founding-member purchase described in pricing. We may add, change, or remove content and features over time.
2. Accounts
You're responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your password secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Don't share your login, and tell us at support@nossletter.tech if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Payment
Learn's founding-member offer is a one-time payment of $79 USD, processed by Stripe -- we never see or store your card details. It grants unlimited code-execution runs against the real hidden test suite, on every exercise, including courses added after your purchase, at no additional charge. See refund policy and cancellation policy for what happens if you want out. The price shown at the time you purchase is the price you pay; we may raise the price for future purchasers as the catalog grows, which does not affect your existing access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the code-execution sandbox (Judge0, behind Learn's "run tests" button) for anything other than solving the exercise in front of you -- no attempts to abuse, escape, or overload the sandbox.
- Share your account, or Learn's paid content, with people who haven't purchased access.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or republish the exercise catalog, problem statements, or reference solutions.
- Use the Service to violate any law, or to infringe anyone else's rights.
5. Your code submissions
Code you write and submit to solve an exercise is yours. By submitting it, you grant us a license to store and process it solely to run it against that exercise's tests and show you the result -- we don't claim ownership of your solutions, and we don't use them to train anything.
6. Our content
Exercise problem statements, hints, reference solutions, test suites, digest writeups, and OSSpedia case studies are our content (or used under license/fair use from the real open-source repositories and papers they cite). They're for your personal learning use, not for republishing or reselling.
7. Third-party services
We rely on third parties to run the Service: Stripe for payments, a Judge0-based sandbox for code execution, and email delivery for the digest and account verification. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the digest, OSSpedia, or Learn will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available. Code examples and exercise content are for educational purposes and aren't a substitute for your own judgment in production code.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (i.e., at most $79 for most users).
10. Termination
You can ask us to close your account at any time -- see cancellation policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including the acceptable-use section above.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above; material changes affecting paid access will be communicated by email where practical.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION -- fill in], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
